Abstract

The year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate in Sulawesi Tengah at May 2025 was 2.61 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 109.86. The highest inflation was seen in Luwuk at 4.28 percent with a CPI of 112.23, while the lowest was 2.10 percent and occurred in Morowali and Palu with a CPI of 110.27 and 107,79, respectively.
Inflation occurred as the prices increased, as indicated by the rise in all expenditure groups indices, namely: Food, Beverages, and Tobacco Group of 3.94 percent; Clothing and Footwear Group of 0.77 percent; Housing, Water, Electricity, and Household Fuel Group of 1.09 percent; Furnishings, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance Group of 0.87 percent; Health Group of 2.24 percent; Transport Group of 0.67 percent; Information, Communication, and Financial Services Group of 0,08 percent; Recreation, Sport, and Culture Group of 2.03 percent; Education Group of 4.29 percent; Food and Beverage Serving Services/Restaurant Group of 3.15 percent; and Personal Care and Other Services Group of 7.89 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) deflation rate was 0.28 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) rate was 2.52 percent in Mei 2025.
