In May 2025, the total export value reached US$1,968.45 million, marking an increase of US$8.45 million compared to May 2024. The largest export contributor was Iron and Steel, amounting to US$1,104.69 million (65.3% of total exports). China remained the main export destination with a value of US$771.33 million (39.18%). Bahodopi Port played a significant role, facilitating exports worth US$1,882.33 million (76.51%). Cumulatively, from January to May 2025, total exports stood at US$8,677.09 million, with US$8,362.39 million exported via Central Sulawesi and US$314.7 million through other provinces. Meanwhile, imports in May 2025 totaled US$863.07 million, reflecting a decrease of US$102.87 million compared to May 2024. The main import commodity was Mineral Fuels, valued at US$185.3 million (21.47%). China was also the largest import origin, contributing US$438.75 million (50.84%). Morowali Port handled US$829.37 million (96.1%) of the total imports. The trade balance recorded a surplus of US$1,105.37 million.
