Abstract

  • In September 2024, the level of inequality in population expenditure in Sulawesi Tengah as measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.309. This figure increased by 0.008 points compared to the March 2024 Gini Ratio of 0.301, while when compared to the March 2023 Gini Ratio of 0.304, the figure increased by 0.005 points.
  • The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2024 did not change compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2024 of 0.340, and decreased compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2023 of 0.344. In rural areas, the Gini Ratio in September 2024 was 0.271, increase compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2024 of 0.259 and compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2023 of 0.265.
  • In September 2024, the distribution of expenditure in the bottom 40 percent group was 21.80 percent. This means that population expenditure is still in the low inequality category according to the World Bank's measurements. When broken down by region, the level of inequality in both urban and rural areas is in the low category. In urban areas, the figure was recorded at 19.94 percent, while in rural areas the figure was recorded at 23.48 percent.
