The world's population will experience two major trends in the more young people in developing countries and more old people in rich countries. That is why Indonesia, especially Central Sulawesi, needs to have population projections to take advantage of the demographic bonus.
Therefore, BPS Central Sulawesi Province today (31/7) held the Socialization of the Results of the
Population Projections 2020-2035 of Central Sulawesi Province from the 2020 Population Census. Population projections aim to integrate population variables and development planning by providing information on future population conditions.
In addition to Central Sulawesi Provincial BPS employees, the event was also attended by relevant agencies/OPDs as well as the Head of Palu City BPS, Head of Sigi Regency BPS and Head of Donggala Regency BPS. This activity was officially opened by the Head of BPS Central Sulawesi Province, Drs. Simon Sapary, M.Sc.
This meeting presented a resource person from Tadulako University as well as the Deputy Chairperson of the Indonesian Population Coalition of Central Sulawesi Representative, Dr. Syamsuddin H. M., SE, M.Si., who presented material with the theme "Population Projections: Welcoming the Demographic Bonus" moderated by Ir. Jefrie Wahido, M.Si. At the end of the event, Irwan Kurniawan, SST presented material related to the Publication of Population Projection Results of Regency / City 2020-2035 Central Sulawesi Projection of SP2020 Results which was released on July 14, 2023 ago.
